2021 Critical Care – What Every Hospitalist Needs to Know
Pre-work in this course must be completed
prior to the live course on May 3, 2021.
In this Advanced Learning Course, the participant will learn how to evaluate and manage a wide variety of critical care issues that a hospitalist may encounter in their practice. The interactive sessions will feature multiple-choice questions during the presentations and question and answer periods after each one. In addition, we will be utilizing a mechanical ventilator simulator and a high-fidelity human patient simulator to enhance the learning experience for some of the sessions.
Learning Objectives
Upon completion of this educational activity, participants will be better able to:
- Discuss the role of point of care ultrasound for assessing critically ill patients.
- Explain what mechanical ventilatory settings are appropriate for various critically ill patients.
- Demonstrate how to approach stabilization of critically ill patients in respiratory distress.
