Module Summary
Utilization Management and Clinical Documentation for Hospitalists: Case Studies is the second module in the series. It is composed of 6 case studies that cover several diagnoses commonly seen in Hospital Medicine. Here, participants will learn to apply the foundational principles of clinical documentation and status determinations from The Basics using the standard of medical necessity.
The module is divided into 3 sections of two case studies each. Your progress will be saved within the Learning Portal, enabling you to exit and return to finish the module at your own pace. At the end of the last case study, there is a graded quiz.
Copies of the slides are available to print and take notes on within the module. You can access them by clicking ‘Resources’ on the top right of the module window once you have started the course.
